KorLuv is a free community site where Koreans and people from abroad find friends, language exchange partners, and dates. It started in 2012 and reopened on a new system in July 2026.
It is run by To-Ryu in Korea and offered in three languages: Korean, English, and Japanese. Contact: support@korluv.net.
Signing up requires email verification, and every profile photo is reviewed by staff. A photo not checked within 24 hours is published automatically, and photos that are not of the member are removed. Unverified accounts do not appear in search or lists.
KorLuv is free to use, and a Better Account is the option that unlocks better features.
During the free event period, every member gets Better Account features.
Member profiles are visible only to logged-in members and are not exposed to search engines. Phone numbers are exchanged only when both people agree.
What we do
KorLuv is a place where foreigners and Koreans meet naturally, talk, become friends, and build relationships. People looking for a language exchange partner, foreigners interested in Korean culture, and Koreans who want friends abroad find each other by country, age, and who is online, and message each other.
We deliberately avoid the swipe-and-judge structure of dating apps. You read a profile and start with a conversation. Staying friends is fine, ending at language exchange is fine, and going further is fine too — the member decides what kind of relationship it becomes. Our job is only to make sure it happens between real people.
Background
Koreans want to meet friends from abroad. But they do not know where to look, and when they do meet someone, language gets in the way. The other side has the same problem — plenty of people are interested in Korea, with no path to actually reach a Korean person. KorLuv was built to bridge that gap: a place to teach and learn each other’s languages, become friends along the way, and, if you want, go further toward an international relationship.
KorLuv first opened in 2012 as a community connecting Koreans and foreigners. After a long dormant period, it was rebuilt from the ground up on a new technical foundation and officially reopened in the summer of 2026. The original principles — photo review, free connection, phone numbers exchanged only when both sides agree — carried over unchanged. The technology changed; what we protect did not.
Completely free — and what a Better Account actually is
Sign-up, messaging, photo uploads, and member search — every core feature is free. We never require payment to make friends or keep a conversation going, and we do not use the "free" bait where a payment wall appears at your first message.
A Better Account is optional. It exists for people who want to send unlimited messages with no waiting, plus extras such as live chat and hiding their online status; without it you can still meet and talk with anyone. Payments go through PayPal, and the refund terms are published on the refund policy page.
Photo review and safety
Every uploaded profile photo is subject to review. If our team checks it, that is when it goes live; if nobody has within 24 hours it is released automatically, and anything that turns out to be someone else’s photo or otherwise inappropriate is taken down as soon as we see it. Accounts that have not confirmed their email never appear in search or lists.
Every profile has a report button, and blocking takes one tap without notifying the other person. Member profiles are visible only to logged-in members and are not exposed to search engines. The full safety policy has its own page.
What we do not do
We do not create fake members. We never pad member counts with operator-made profiles or let auto-generated accounts message people. Every number a member sees — who is online, likes received — comes from real data only.
A member’s phone number is shown only after both sides have agreed to exchange contacts. We also do not expose profiles to search engines to attract traffic. A space where members can feel safe comes first; growth comes after.
In three languages
KorLuv works in Korean, English, and Japanese — not just the interface, but the guides and help pages are written separately in each language. Whether the other person cannot speak Korean or you cannot speak theirs, you can start in whichever language is comfortable, and language exchange itself becomes the most natural first conversation.
